As a Security Officer - Unarmed Government Site in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
• Observe and report any irregularities, such as security-related breaches, property damage, or unusual activity, according to established protocols.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with Allied Universal management and/or local law enforcement as required.
• Assist visitors and employees by providing information and directions while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
• Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by Allied Universal for working in government locations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
