Security Officer - Retail Patrol Specialist

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol Specialist in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail and mall location, you will be responsible for monitoring and patrolling assigned areas to help create a secure environment for visitors and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the overall well-being of the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall property, including its perimeter, to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
• Assist visitors, tenants, and/or patrons with inquiries and provide guidance as needed while maintaining a professional presence.
• Observe for unusual or suspicious behavior and report findings according to established procedures.
• Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site management to support a welcoming environment for all individuals at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• One or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
