Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire monthly, quarterly and annual revenue accounting process, including revenue receipts, accruals and close
  • Supervise, train, and mentor revenue team members, delegating tasks and managing workloads effectively
  • Ensure that all team activities are performed accurately, consistently, and on time
  • Lead special projects, such as the revenue integration of new acquisitions or divestitures
  • Review revenue vouchers for completeness and accuracy
  • Review accounts receivable reconciliation and assist in resolving outstanding balances monthly
  • Prepare variance analysis and explain major sales fluctuations monthly
  • Assist in maintaining SAP master data setup and trouble shoots errors
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Land, Division Order, and IT, to ensure an accurate and efficient revenue process
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, including automation, reporting and interdepartmental workflows
  • Prepare schedules and footnotes for internal reporting and external filings, such as with the Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Ensure the team follows internal control processes in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Assist with internal and external audit matters
  • Adhere to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation
  • Support company vision and mission
  • Remain professional, positive, determined, and focused when facing challenging situations
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BBA or BS) in accounting or equivalent experience
  • At least five (5+) years of progressive accounting experience
  • At least five (5+) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced working knowledge of oil and gas accounting and general accounting principles
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a team
  • The ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into strategic insights
  • Excellentanalysis and facilitation skills to ensure success of interdepartmental responsibilities and challenges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the PRA module of SAP
  • Attention to detail with ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, work independently, and maintain organized files
  • Flexibility regarding daily work assignments and priorities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to quickly pick up on new concepts
