Metronome is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the Air Force's Platform One ecosystem, specifically the Iron Bank hardened container pipeline. This role is AWS-heavy, Infrastructure-heavy, and Kubernetes-heavy, driving secure cloud deployments across IL5/IL6 environments.

You will architect, automate, and scale enterprise DoD cloud platforms, serving as a technical expert in infrastructure-as-code, container security, Kubernetes orchestration, and CI/CD engineering. The ideal candidate brings deep cloud knowledge, loves solving complex distributed system challenges, and thrives in fast-moving DevSecOps environments.

• Lead deployments and modernization efforts within Platform One / Iron Bank environments.

• Design, deploy, and secure AWS-based infrastructure across IL5/IL6 cloud environments.

• Architect and maintain Kubernetes clusters using Kustomize, Helm, and Docker.

• Build and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines used across multiple product teams.

• Debug, secure, and harden microservices operating in distributed DoD environments.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, and other CaC/IaC tools.

• Evaluate system performance and recommend improvements for scale, security, and reliability.

• Support customer engagements, escalations, and technical solutioning.

• Create and maintain engineering documentation, diagrams, and implementation guides.

Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of experience in DevSecOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure.

Extensive AWS experience (VPCs, IAM, networking, automation, scaling).

Deep Kubernetes expertise (Kustomize, Helm, Docker, cluster config, debugging).

Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform.

Experience supporting container hardening or secure container workflows (Iron Bank preferred).

Hands-on CI/CD pipeline development using GitLab (Python + Bash).

Strong experience in debugging and optimizing microservices.

Proficiency with Git-based tools (GitLab, GitHub, Subversion, Mercurial).

IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, etc.).

IL6 cloud deployment experience.

Hands-on Platform One experience (Iron Bank, Big Bang, Party Bus).

IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE, CySA+, SSCP, GSEC, etc.).

Experience with Istio or similar service mesh technologies.

Experience designing Grafana dashboards, monitoring, and alerting.

Experience with Kubernetes secrets, RBAC, and service accounts.

Experience authoring technical documentation for secure cloud systems.
