Minimum Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree; or
  • Training or coursework in narrative design, game mechanics, or tabletop role-playing game development.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience in game development.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), including narrative development, mechanics creation, and character/setting design.
  • Familiarity with public health concepts, systems thinking frameworks, or applied learning in health sciences.
  • Experience incorporating systems thinking, scenario-based learning, or simulation elements into game design.
  • Ability to manage an iterative design process, incorporate feedback, and deliver within academic timelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop a public health centered tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) that engages students in systems thinking in collaboration with the course instructor, course graduate assistant, and Atkins librarian

    • Develop storyline/story for 2 2-hour sessions of continuous play, including MCs, NPCs, etc.
    • Develop training materials for table directors
    • Conduct training for table directors
