General Purpose

Manage and lead projects and assignments, ensuring ensure timely progress and successful execution. Architect, develop, and provide ongoing operational support to deliver and maintain business intelligence (BI), data warehousing, reporting, and visualization solutions serving diverse business functions and user groups. Collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to facilitate productive discussions and drive initiatives forward. Function as part of DFA's IT organization and follow relevant applications, infrastructure and governance processes. Independently perform and provide guidance to colleagues, consistently demonstrating advanced expertise in business intelligence development and analytical tasks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities



  • Lead projects and assignments and collaborate with business leaders and IT teams to facilitate productive discussions and drive initiatives forward
  • Design, develop, and deploy logical or physical data models that support information delivery and the data visualization needs of the business using data warehousing concepts and dimensional data modeling
  • Design, develop, and deploy ETL scripts and pipelines
  • Acquire data from various and multiple sources, transforming it to reporting-ready data marts based on business requirements
  • Coordinate data modeling, ETL development, and testing activities with teammates and business resources
  • Create technical specifications for data flows and transformations
  • Create and execute test scripts with business reporting analysts
  • Ensure data quality with data modelers and/or business analysts through regression testing and troubleshooting
  • Deliver data models using agile development releases
  • Coordinate change management with business analysts and BI analytics teammates
  • Maintain outbound interfaces using API, FTP, email, etc.
  • Test new technologies to assist the company in becoming a data driven organization

Education and Experience



  • Undergraduate degree in in computer science, information technology, data science, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • 8 or more years of business intelligence development and/or analysis or related experience that includes 3+ years of SQL and 5+ years of data warehouse/BI development experience
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Advanced skills with MS SQL Server and SQL/TSQL
  • Deep knowledge of Power BI, or similar analytics and reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data factory, Azure Data Lake, U-SQL, SSRS, C#, and PowerShell
  • Strong skills with SSAS (Tabular), MS Power BI, and DAX. Knowledge of Power Query, AAS, and MDX
  • Knowledge of cloud provider technologies (such as MS Azure, AWS, and CGP)
  • Proficiency with project management and software development methodology
  • Able to understand basic to intermediate level software development languages and tools
  • Able to demonstrate written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with business users, stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Able to work independently and serve as a project manager to promote collaboration and shared objectives
  • Able to lead and/or work on multiple projects simultaneously, including the ability to prioritize
  • Able to organize time and resources effectively to achieve goals (i.e., organizational skills)
  • Able to demonstrate leadership qualities as a self-starter, set direction, and complete assignments
  • Able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate strong customer service orientation
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
