POSITION MISSION:

The Senior Director of Finance & Analytics is a strategic business leader responsible for driving financial performance, shaping analytical strategy, and delivering insights that accelerate growth and profitability. This role partners closely with the Executive Leadership Team to enable data-driven decisions across the business - integrating financial rigor with advanced analytics to improve forecasting, optimize investment, and enhance performance visibility across all channels.

  • Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $230,000 annually
  • Bonus: 25%
  • Long-Term Incentive (LTI): $40,000

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Strategic Finance & Planning

  • Support and lead the development of the annual operating plan, long-range plan, and monthly forecasts in partnership with other finance and functional leaders.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, scenario planning, and capital allocation discipline.
  • Support strategic initiatives including growth investments, pricing strategy, channel profitability, and margin enhancement.
  • Provide clear visibility to key performance drivers across in-store, digital, and non-traditional channels.
  • Develop frameworks to evaluate new growth opportunities (e.g., digital acquisition, menu innovation, pricing strategy).
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, profitability analysis, and cash flow visibility.
  • Support the CFO and executive team with board-level insights and strategic financial narratives.

Business Performance & Decision Support

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and market dynamics to inform business strategy and innovation.
  • Translate complex structured and unstructured data into clear, compelling narratives that guide business priorities and revenue-driving decisions.
  • Standardize unit-level P&L analytics to better understand drivers of transaction, check, and profitability.
  • Partner with Operations, Marketing, to evaluate promotions, pricing, and capital investments supporting revenue growth.
  • Identify underperforming areas of the business and lead fact-based reviews to drive corrective actions.
  • Lead monthly business reviews, clearly articulating performance trends, risks, and opportunities.

Analytics & Data Evolution

  • Develop a roadmap to improve visibility into guest behavior despite limited first-party data - connecting POS, digital, and third-party delivery insights.
  • Build scalable dashboards and self-service tools to democratize insights across the organization.
  • Partner with IT and Digital teams to define data strategy and ensure analytics capabilities evolve with the business.
  • Monitor business performance and identify opportunities and risks related to business and financial objectives.
  • Present insights in executive forums in support of strategic and financial planning across all business functions.
  • Introduce predictive and prescriptive analytics to forecast demand, optimize marketing ROI, and inform resource allocation.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a team spanning FP&A, Business Analytics, and Insights.
  • Instill a performance mindset grounded in curiosity, accountability, and clarity.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, balancing analytical rigor with practical business judgment.
  • Build organizational capability by training cross-functional leaders to use data effectively in decision making.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proven success leading planning, forecasting, and analytics in a multi-unit environment.
  • Strong grasp of key restaurant financial drivers - transactions, labor, food cost, and unit-level profitability.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying financial models, dashboards, and performance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau; working knowledge of SQL or data visualization tools preferred.

EDUCATION - TRAINING - EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, FP&A, or Business Analytics, preferably within QSR, retail, or consumer services.

Please Note: The range provided below encompasses a wide range of Bagel Brands roles. The specific salary range for this role is $200,000/yr to $230,000/yr.
