| Essential Job Duties |
The primary duties of this Research Associate position involve day to day activities in the poultry health research laboratory related to completion of experiments, preparation of manuscripts for publication, and writing grant proposals. Research experiments include general microbiology, molecular microbiology, microbiome datasets, parasitology, and live bird studies. The team member is expected to conduct their own studies as well as assist others in the laboratory with additional work. Preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer reviewed research journals is expected, as well as assisting the PI in preparation of research proposals to federal, state, and private institutions. This will include data processing, statistical analysis and writing experiment reports. |

| Minimum Experience/Education |
- Relevant Master's degree, or Relevant Bachelor's and 3 or more years of relevant experience, relevant independent experience and education

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience executing experimental protocols
- Ability to handle poultry species
- Understanding of basic principles of good laboratory practice (including proper personal protective equipment and appropriate safety protocols)
- Familiarity with computer operating systems (e.g. Microsoft Windows)
