Principal Product Designer - (Upgrades/Churn) We are seeking a visionary design leader to shape the post-purchase experience for millions of users. This role focuses on subscription lifecycle journeys-upgrades, downgrades, and cancellations-creating intuitive, data-driven experiences that balance user needs with business goals. About the Role As Principal Product Designer - Upgrade & Churn, you will report to the Senior* Director of Product Design for this domain. You'll own the end-to-end design process: conceiving, defining, designing, testing, and launching experiences that are contextually relevant, highly usable, and drive measurable impact.* What You'll Do * Lead strategic UX innovation for subscription management flows, elevating the post-purchase journey. * Design experiences that increase upgrades and reduce churn, directly impacting retention and ARPU. * Deliver high-fidelity UX flows across multiple platforms, considering edge cases and device nuances. * Collaborate with UX research, engineering, design systems, and UX writing to ensure cohesive solutions. * Partner with product managers and engineers to bring designs to market successfully. * Present design strategies and decisions to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence. * Mentor junior designers and foster a collaborative, human-centered design culture. * Advocate for design excellence and maintain obsessive attention to detail. What We're Looking For * 7+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design methodology and shipped products. * Expertise in commerce flows and subscription management. * Advanced proficiency with design tools (Figma, prototyping tools) and familiarity with design systems. * Experience designing for web, mobile, and multi-platform ecosystems. * Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. * Proven ability to balance visionary ideas with practical execution in fast-paced environments. Nice to Have * Background in behavioral design or experience influencing user motivation. * Leadership experience or history of mentoring designers. Additional Requirements * Degree in Design, Human Factors, Computer Science, or related field. * Online portfolio demonstrating UX discovery, problem statements, and data-driven design decisions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $88.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
