| About the Department |
The Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, a Health Coaching Certificate, a fully accredited Coordinated Program at the master's level, an MS/
DPD, an MS in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, a PhD in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition, and a PhD in Chemistry with a concentration in Nutritional Sciences. The Department includes 10 full-time faculty and several part-time faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment. Faculty research is supported by funding from
NIH,
USDA, commodity boards, and industry. The Department maintains over 50 agreements for pre-professional practice experiences with hospitals, community/government agencies, and private organizations. Opportunities exist for joint appointments in units such as Biology, Chemistry, Kinesiology and Health, and Public Health. |
| Position Description |
The Department of Nutrition invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop a nationally recognized, externally funded research program
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses
- Mentor graduate students
- Contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional service

| Required Experience |
For Associate Professor rank: At least 7 years of prior academic experience with a strong record of research productivity, including publications in top-tier journals and successful grantsmanship. |
| Required Education |
Earned doctorate in Nutrition or a related discipline with an emphasis on human health. |
| Preferred Qualifications/Experience |
- Evidence of research productivity in areas such as chronic disease prevention/treatment, lifecycle nutrition, international nutrition, community nutrition, informatics, public health, or sports nutrition
- Experience teaching nutrition-related courses at the college level
- Experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Experience working with accredited programs in nutrition and dietetics
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential with eligibility for licensure in Georgia
