Why do we need you?

The Design Engineer is part of a fast-paced, service-oriented team that provides newly designed abrasive products and solutions for the manufacturing plant and its various external customers. This position focuses on developing automated systems to support the Bonded and Super Abrasives North American Product Design Team.

In this role, you will prepare quotes, engineering drawings, and comprehensive product designs, along with detailed instructions for producing various abrasive products. These products are manufactured for applications in cutting tools, gears, aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, and other grinding markets.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 3+ years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • AION programming or similar programming capability
  • 2D/3D Computer Aided Design capability


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 3+ years CAD/3D modeling experience
  • 3+ years Scripting for automation
  • Prior experience in product application, manufacturing or development, and a strong mechanical aptitude desirable
  • Familiarity with abrasives products and/or design/manufacturing processes
  • SAP, ERP software familiarity

Benefits in joining us

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees' wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $79,500.00 to $123,500.00 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $87,450 to $135,850. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
