System Engineering IV
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a System Engineering IV in Virginia Beach, VA.
- This position is to provide engineering and design support for a combat system evolution and integration initiative that includes the design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of tactical, engineering, and developmental test equipment suites.
Job Description:
- Perform independent analysis on obsolete and emerging hardware that assesses the impact of those scenarios on current systems.
- Independently analyzes the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources and modern hardware solutions.
- Provide acquisition recommendations based on independent analyses.
- Support the planning, designing, implementation, and integration of systems hardware components.
- Plans and executes system version upgrade releases and custom interfaces.
- Perform configuration management (CM) duties for various Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
- Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software.
- Provide design modifications based on Commercial Off the Shelf (COTs) components for obsolete parts and for modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (I.e., Project and Excel).
- Must have experience working with SSDS or shipboard systems.
- Must have experience with utilizing CAMEO, JIRA, Confluence and Security +
- Systems, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering BS degree from an ABET accredited school.
- 10 plus years of experience with SSDS, Navy, and/or shipboard systems.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance and base access requirements.
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
- Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
- Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
