Start Date 12/06/2025 Contract CFT HSM -41 North Island Salary Range $45.27/Hour Posting Date 11/25/2025 Union No FLSA Status Non-Exempt Shift Work Possible FT/PT Full-time Relocation No Travel Possible Job Summary: The Aircraft Mechanic II (Line) performs maintenance on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, hydraulic, engines, avionics, armament, gear boxes, rotor systems, plane captain qualifications, flight schedule and operations, ventilation and heating systems and phase and preservation services. Working with foreign counties/cultures. Manage other mechanics and insure work load is completed on time. Approve time cards for other employees. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1. Repairs and rebuilds all aircraft systems to include aircraft structure system, engine/gearbox/rotor system, all avionic systems. Blades and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, ensuring hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills are being used properly, wire, canon plugs, system avionic boxes, rewire, cockpit avionics, paint/corrosion on all aircraft systems. 2. Leadership: Able to lead, direct, assign task, handle employee personal issues, communicate with US Navy, and M1 Management effectively and a contusions daily basis. Lead a work center and multiple shifts. Ensure all areas of the work center is in compliance with all Publications, Policies, GOP, LOI. Leadership ability to assign and monitor; Ensure safety procedures are followed for the following: adjustment, repairs, or replace any aircraft system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru- flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing gearbox, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes and corrosion prevention of aircraft. This is not an all-inclusive list. Reads and interprets manufacturers and maintenance manuals, OPNAV 4790, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Also local GOP,LOI, PQS, Safety Orders 3. Performs 175-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines engines for cracked blades and oil leaks, inspects turbine engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspects engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment. Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or crane, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this Mechanic 2 adjusts, repairs, and replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, and miscellaneous duties to include servicing aircraft, including flushing gearbox, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, checking brakes and corrosion prevention of aircraft. 5. Performs jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily; may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul; required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition. 6. Repairs and modifies structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies; and may specialize in engine repair. 7. Coordinate and participate in the jacking and towing of aircraft, entries into the maintenance records description of all work performed including safety of flight items and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service/inspect/remove/install engine, airframe, electrical, ordnance components in hanger or flight line, required to keep aircraft in safe and mission ready operating condition. Must be able to repair and preform modification of all aircraft system and assemblies. 8. Shall be required to specialize in one or more areas engine/airframes/electrical/armament repair. Mechanic 2 shall be responsible for other areas of the aircraft that he or she may be required to fulfill other obligations for aircraft maintenance or administration duties. 9. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed in OOMA or similar to OOMA systems ensuring compliance with 4790 and safety standards. 10. Must be able and available to work all shifts on site. 11. This is not an all-inclusive list. Additional duties include: 1. Housekeeping of all areas of work including shop; participate in FOD program. 2. Certifications: CDQAR (Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative) 3. Comply with all work site safety requirements. 4. Handling and disposing of Hazmat. 5. May need to participate and qualify in Aviation gas free program. 6. Obtain all support equipment licenses for job description. Page 3 of 4 Qualifications and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of five (5) years actual and recent O level H-60S/R/F/H Aircraft Maintenance experience or equivalent rotary aircraft experience. Minimum of five (3) years of actual H60 CDQAR/QAR experience. Two (2) years must be performed at management level; required. * Must be able to obtain and maintain all required qualifications; In accordance with instructions as outlined in CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and Local work site local instructions. Within the time frame set by local work site instructions. * Will be required to complete minimum of one or multiple PQS's for classification's qualification (PQS)Personal qualification standards as needed; for the following, AM,AD,AE,AT,AO,Plane Captain, 310 CDQAR. PQS and all requirements SHALL be completed within the allotted time as per work site instructions. * All Work Site Positions: Job descriptions and responsibilities shall change with changes to US Navy Mission and needs. * Must be able to work all shifts. Full time employment; but 40 hours are not guaranteed per-week. Working hours; must be able to be flexible, start time and end time will be dependent on flight schedule and or overall tasking. * Manage other mechanics and insure work load is completed on time. * Approve time cards for other employees. * Ability to read and write and interpret technical data and special operating instructions is required. An in- depth knowledge of the applicable aircraft is required. A thorough working knowledge of applicable technical publication is required. * Ability to use a computer, keyboard and mouse printer and be proficient using computer programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, NALCOMIS/OOMA. * Good verbal and written skills and leadership ability are required. * Must be able to work with foreign counties/cultures. Work side by side with people of different culture and languages. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) or Rapid Gate Pass. * Prior experience with U.S. Naval repair maintenance operations on military aircraft highly preferred. * Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory. * Must have a valid Driver's License. * Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check * Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. * Housekeeping of all areas of work including shop; participate in FOD program. * Successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen or physical. Page 4 of 4 Working Conditions: * Must be capable of lifting 50lbs and performing physical tasks as required. * Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. * Computer usage for documentation using codes and clear written and verbal English language required. * Constant use of eye sight abilities while reviewing documents, walking around work areas and constant use of English language speech/hearing abilities for communication. * Constant mental alertness around all work areas, must possess planning/organization skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. * Climbing aircraft using aircraft step and all types of ladders or stands. * Standing long period of time and minimal sitting. * Ability to work under extreme weather conditions. * Work site has head, hand, hearing, eye, slip and trip hazards shall use proper PPE and proper safety procedures.
