Mechanics Bank is currently searching for an HR Generalist to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long-term relationships and working together in person. This role will work onsite in Irvine, CA. The HR Generalist will support positive employee relations across the Bank to include disciplinary actions, investigations, proactive reach outs to new employees in their introductory period. Contributes to the accomplishments of human resource initiatives, practices, objectives and development of an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance, and the recruitment and retention of a superior workforce. What you will be doing:
- Support employee relations with management and employees, investigations, and facilitated conversations. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Create and maintain current job descriptions and ensures they accurately reflect the essential job functions.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Support HR projects throughout the department as needed, including HRIS, Advisory Services, Planning Director, and Leaves and Accommodations.
- Manages functional mailboxes for multiple areas in HR to provide a timely resolution and response to all emails, escalating as needed. Resource for all inquiries and escalating to the appropriate teams.
- Updates and maintains department forms, procedures and policies as assigned. Responding in a timely manner to subpoenas and employee records requests.
- HRIS system: Performs data entry into HR Systems and maintains data integrity; Administers HR systems as assigned. Provides feedback to Supervisor to enhance and streamline system processes; Pulls reports from HR systems as requested, for analysis, data entry, and other reporting requests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience required.
- SHRM-CP a plus.
- Proficient with: MS Office Suite and internet
- Possess excellent human relations, communications and business writing skills.
- Able to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Demonstrate teamwork in facilitating workflow. High level of cooperation with others and responsive to the Bank's needs.
- High level of accuracy and great attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Exhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive customer or employee information.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Able to comprehend and interpret Bank policies and procedures.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually AIP/Bonus: up to 7.5% Our comprehensive employee benefits program is designed for you to live your best life at work, home, and everywhere in between.
