| Primary Purpose of Position |
The Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering (
CAEE) Department and the College of Engineering at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (
NCAT) invite applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (9-month) position. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and sustain a strong externally-funded research program in Water Resources Engineering and produce an excellent record of scholarly publication; bring pedagogical skills to teach undergraduate and graduate courses; supervise MS and Ph.D. theses; and provide service to the university and its units, to the state and regional community, as well as to the appropriate professional organizations.
The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, conducting research, student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, conducting scholarly activities, and other activities as expected. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment, and service to the department, College, and University as needed. |

ABET-accredited program in Computer Science. On the Graduate level, the College has 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and 5 Doctoral programs. The 5 research cluster areas of the College of Engineering (
COE) are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications and Complex Systems and Networks. | Minimum Requirements |
Competitive candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline and demonstrate the ability to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in water resources engineering, fostering strong student outcomes. They should have a proven track record of academic excellence, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to inclusive excellence. Candidates should also be willing to engage in interdisciplinary approaches to address complex technical and societal challenges. |

Experience in curriculum development,
ABET accreditation process, involvement with the student organizations. Candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to an open and collegial environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member. A commitment to student learning and promoting a culture that values diversity.
A Professional Engineering license is preferred. |
