Neurodiagnostic Tech - RWJBarnabas Health

Are you a detail-oriented Neurodiagnostic Technician who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care through advanced diagnostic testing? At RWJBarnabas Health, our Neurodiagnostic teams play a vital role in supporting physicians with accurate neurological assessments that help guide patient diagnosis and treatment. Working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, you'll perform a variety of EEG procedures while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and high-quality diagnostic results. As a Neurodiagnostic Technician, a typical day might include the following:
  • Performing routine, complex, inpatient, outpatient, and portable EEG studies while ensuring high-quality diagnostic recordings.
  • Conducting advanced neurodiagnostic procedures, including Long Term Video Monitoring (LTM) setup, monitoring, and electrode removal.
  • Applying electrodes using the International 10/20 Electrode Placement System and selecting appropriate electrode combinations based on each patient's clinical history.
  • Preparing patients for testing by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and obtaining accurate recordings throughout the study.
  • Collaborating with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting EEG equipment to ensure optimal performance and accurate test results.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to provide EEG and Long Term Monitoring services for emergent patient needs.
  • Accurately documenting procedures and maintaining patient records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an accredited EEG program or equivalent on-the-job EEG training required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of neurodiagnostic experience required.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association required.
  • EEG Technologist Certification required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Coursework in Neuroanatomy is preferred.
Scheduling Requirements:
  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift (36 hours per week)
  • Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation.
