JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Job Description and Position Requirements:

The Department of Public Health Sciences is seeking a Part-Time Global Health Coordinator to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Penn State Global Health Exchange Program (GHEP). This is a part-time position designed for a qualified staff member with expertise in public health, global health, and/or international education.

Ideal candidates will possess exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills. The coordinator will serve as a key resource and guide for international partnering institutions and incoming international students.

This position involves a higher degree of responsibility than a typical assistantship, with a focus on leadership, curriculum design, and scholarly work.

Responsibilities include:

Program Structure & Curriculum Design:

  • In coordination with the GHEP Program Director, refine the GHEP curriculum to ensure alignment with the program's learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with program faculty to develop and implement new lectures, educational materials, and activities.
  • Collaborate with community partners to design immersive community-based experiences for the interprofessional student group.
  • Coordinate the logistics of the program, including planning student events and facilitating communication with all participants.
  • Host regular check-ins with students and program staff.

Scholarly Work & Program Evaluation:

  • Design and execute a monitoring and evaluation plan to assess the program's effectiveness and impact.
  • Refine existing student evaluation and assessment tools.
  • Analyze program data to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead or contribute to scholarly outputs, such as conference presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and reports, based on the program's outcomes and data.

This position is for 10 hours/week from January through the middle of July. During the two-week program, July 13-24, 2026, the program hours increase to 40 hours per week.
