Position Summary

UNM's Office for Community Health (OCH) is a key resource to New Mexico's communities and operates under the Executive Vice President of Health Sciences. OCH's many programs offer a diverse set of resources linking community health needs with University resources in all mission areas-clinical services, education, research and health policy.

The UNM Health Sciences (HSC) Office for Community Health (OCH) is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant III. This position will work closely with Senior Leadership and the Administrative and Fiscal Teams for OCH, helping them support their mission to deliver community health. This role will provide high-level administrative support through the effective scheduling and coordination of calendars for the Vice President of Community Health and the Executive Director of Community Engagement at OCH. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to quickly shift priorities and adapt to changing needs. In addition to calendar management, this position will assist with broader organizational support for OCH leadership, including preparing and maintaining meeting minutes, cell phone and mileage reimbursement, organizing leadership meetings, and ensuring efficient communication and workflow across departments.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills. The individual will have a working knowledge of or the ability to learn and use database applications, the administrative business system, and other systems, or that may be used within the University/Center. This position is fully in office Monday through Friday 8-5pm.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
