Rantec islocated in Los Osos, California is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.

Position Summary

Under general supervision, perform a variety of maintenance, repair and adjustment of assembly and production equipment. Coordinate a facility Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for production equipment, generate maintenance records and update the maintenance database. Maintain the tools, supplies and work areas dedicated for the PM program. Must apply a working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electromechanical systems during maintenance and repair of equipment. Perform Facility based repairs and Preventative Maintenance. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing and hand tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform Maintenance on Production Equipment - Perform daily and scheduled monitoring and maintenance of production equipment and verify proper operation. Routine activities include lubrication, cleaning, adjustment and process solution tests as necessary to maintain reliable operation. Repair and replace parts in equipment, including pick-and-place feeders.
  • Plan Preventive Maintenance Activities - Schedule and prioritize the maintenance of production equipment. Utilize the Preventive Maintenance Database and other tracking tools to plan activities. Work with equipment operators to schedule and arranging downtime for equipment maintenance.
  • Respond to Repair Needs - Respond to reports of equipment malfunction or breakdown. Observe and analyze equipment operation to support troubleshooting and repair.
  • Utilize and Maintain Documentation - Refer to manufacturer's manuals, Rantec Manufacturing Operation Instructions, technical drawings and internal procedures to determine maintenance and repair activities. Maintain files of reference documents and manuals to support ongoing maintenance program.
  • Machine Shop Operations - Operate common machine tools in the facility shop including a drill press, band saw, bench grinders, etc. as needed to support repairs and to fabricate fixtures that support equipment installation.
  • Maintain Work Area and Tools - Maintain maintenance tools, maintenance work area and report defective equipment for repair/replacement. Maintain stocks of spare parts and supplies and identify needed supplies to supervision for procurement.
  • Employee Training - Assist in the training of equipment operators in certain maintenance and adjustment tasks to support their daily use of the equipment.
  • Safety Procedures - Perform maintenance and repair activities according to safety instructions, use personal protective equipment as directed, and comply with requirements for the safe use and storage of hazardous materials. Perform Lockout/Tagout operations as required for personal and employee safety.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or different shifts, as required.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal Regulations.
  • As the Company's success relies on the productivity of our team and adherence to customer product schedules, an essential function of this position is the ability to arrive to work on-time, and work each day, as scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Competency in the use of hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair.
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude to understand equipment function and analyze problems.
  • Computer skills to maintain PM Database and access online data to support the PM program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with facility personnel.

Salary Range: $23.73 - $30.85 Hourly
