Overview

The Nexus Water Group team has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician II . To maintain, repair or replace mechanical equipment in place at water and wastewater facilities and to perform duties as a lead person.

Work Location and Schedule

This position is located in Bastrop, TX. After-hour and weekend on-call support may be required. Some travel may be required within service area. Must be available to work shift work; weekend scheduling may be required.

What You'll Do



  • Inspects and maintains pumps, motors, valves and blowers in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
  • Pulls motors and pumps for repair, to include wiring and fabrication of parts as necessary.
  • Replaces valves.
  • Repairs fire hydrants.
  • Airs up hydromatic tanks.
  • Cleans and replaces diffuser at sewage treatment plant.
  • Cleans digesters, Cl2 chambers, lift stations , and manholes.
  • Pumps down clarifiers for emergency repairs.
  • Assists hydra operator with sewer backups.
  • Maintains work truck and tools.




What You'll Bring

Education and Certification



  • High school Diploma
  • must maintain a valid driver's license.


Physical and Technical Skills



  • Basic skills with Microsoft Suite of applications
  • Ability to read and comprehend written technical information and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to operate, maneuver, and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, and tools
  • Ability to work weekend or on-call shifts as needed
  • Work Environment

    Work is performed primarily outside and is subject to weather and environmental conditions. Potential hazards include driving a vehicle, working with mechanical tools and repairing electrical equipment in and around water and wastewater.
