Seeking a Lead Instructor for the
NSF I-Corps Program at Rutgers University. The I-Corps program advises and prepares teams of scientists, researchers, and others, to explore the commercial potential of their innovation through regular 4- or 5-week cohorts. General duties for instructors during each Rutgers I-Corps cohort consist of helping to instruct and facilitate four, 3-hour workshops (both in-person and virtual); holding weekly office hours with teams; and participating in pre and post workshop meetings and reviews with the Teaching Team.
The Lead Instructor will be present one of the
NSF I-Corps
CORE areas: Lean Start-up Methodologies; Business Model Canvas; Customer Discovery; and/or Jobs to Be Done. They must be knowledgeable in fields related to Information Technology & Communications, as well.
The position will work closely with the Rutgers I-Corps Director and Manager to ensure high-quality programming, to include helping with course administration and content delivery during workshops. They will also be responsible for reviewing submissions from I-Corps innovation teams, facilitating discussions among teams in the cohort during workshops, and holding weekly office meetings with the teams, as requested. This position requires about approximately 30 hours of work spread over the 4-5-week cohort.
25 % 1. Working closely with the Rutgers I-Corps Director & Manager with course administration and content delivery during the workshops.
25 % 2. Facilitating discussions among team members and providing expertise and guidance to team members during workshops.
25 % 3. Reviewing teams' workbook submissions and providing expertise and guidance to team members during weekly office hours.
25% 4. Participating in pre and post workshop meetings and review with Teaching Team, providing feedback and evaluation of both the workshop and the various teams' progress. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Requires at least 2 years of experience in Higher Education. Requires good communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. They must be knowledgeable in fields related to Information Technology & Communications, as well. |

| Preferred Qualifications |
Participation in a prior
NSF I-Corps regional cohort at a Partner Institution of Higher Education within an
NSF I-Corps Hub (preferably within the Northeast Region). Experience with teaching or mentoring an I-Corps team in a regional I-Corps program.
Specific training required: Completion of the Employee Inclusive Teaching Practices module as directed by the Regional Instructor Trainer (must be completed within 30 days of accepting this position). |
