JOB SUMMARY:

The VP, Marketing, Americas is responsible for strategic positioning and marketing for BioCryst's portfolio of products for rare and serious medical conditions across Americas, which includes US, Canada, and Latin America. A key responsibility will be the development and execution of branding, launch plans, and annual strategic and tactical plans for BioCryst products. This position is hands-on and has multi-faceted responsibility with numerous contact points. It will require a diverse talented individual who excels in cross-functional collaborations, both internal and external.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Development and execution of omnichannel strategic marketing plans, including launch plans. Includes defining market opportunities, positioning/messaging/campaign development and tactical plans across Americas.
  • Ensure appropriate consistency in positioning, messaging and campaign of BioCryst products across markets
  • Responsible for premarket and annual strategic planning, and working with the Americas markets to ensure optimal launch, commercialization, and lifecycle management of BioCryst products
  • Serve as active member of project teams responsible for overall development of the BioCryst HAE portfolio. This will require strong collaboration with clinical, medical affairs, regulatory, market research/ analytics, and ultimately with regional commercial teams.
  • Execute high-impact tactical plans that are rooted in KPIs, meaningful differentiation in crowded rare disease markets, and satisfy key product selection motivators across audiences.
  • Foster/manage agency and other key professional relationships.
  • Collaboratively manage relationships with patient advocacy groups.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and customers to uncover opportunities, which enhance disease awareness and brand strategy and performance.
  • Oversee various aspects of key conferences and educational initiatives in preparation for product launch and beyond.
  • Ability to lead high-performing teams, coordinate cross-functionally, and participate in/lead strategic workstreams to foster alignment between diverse areas, develop strategic and tactical plans, and pull planning through to execution
  • Expect excellence in execution that is first and foremost compliant and in line with company and industry regulations, policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:



  • BA/BS required; MBA/graduate degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10-15 years industry and minimum of 5+ years marketing experience required. Individual should have proven track record demonstrating breadth and depth across marketing competencies.
  • Marketing within rare / orphan diseases is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in development and execution of marketing strategies, omnichannel tactical plans (including digital) and product launch experience is a requirement.
  • Some affiliate in-line marketing experience is preferred.
  • Must exhibit leadership skills and ability to perform in fast paced environments. Self-starter who functions well independently or within a team.
  • A solid understanding of product development process and the ability to actively contribute in new product development teams.
  • Understanding of reimbursement within specialty / rare disease products.
  • Experience working with patient advocacy groups.
  • Solid understanding of patient support services (e.g., co-pay programs, call centers), product fulfillment (including specialty pharmacy) and customer account management.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills: demonstrated analytical skills, with regards market research, competitive data collection and analysis, financial analysis and crystallization of key business insights are needed.
  • Strong written and oral communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience in mobilizing matrix team members, regional partners, embracing teamwork and project management within a cross functional environment will be critical.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
