JOB TYPE Classification: Exempt Supervises Positions: Yes JOB SUMMARY The Respiratory Supervisor is responsible for the development of the service line by staying updated on best practice and new technologies. They are also leaders in the professional growth and development of each team member they represent through education, training, mentoring and guidance in that professional journey. Collaboration: Participates in the teaching and counseling of patients and their support system.
Communication and Documentation: Communicates individualized plan of care and patient's progress toward goals to all members of the care team, including the patient and his/her chosen support system.
Professional Accountability/Evidence Based Practice: Maintain clinical and professional competencies according to department policies.
Quality Improvement: Intervenes when standards of care are not met.
Teamwork: Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members/internal customers.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited school for Respiratory Carerequired. BS/BA/BSRT preferred. Experience:Minimum of 4 years of experience as RRT in acute care setting required. Previous experience in supervisor role preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: Registered by National Board of Respiratory Care and current RCP licensure in applicablestate required.BLS required upon hire. ACLS, NRP and PALS to be completed within 90 days of hire date. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code: 23A, Therapist Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand The job requires standing and walking constantly and frequently bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
