Trident Optical Precision Systems (OPS) is a leader in highly capable remote lidar sensors for austere environments. We have over 30 years of experience designing, developing, manufacturing and servicing advanced lidar products to solve our military and commercial customers' most challenging remote-sensing needs.

Position Summary

Trident OPS is seeking a Business Development Capture Manager to identify and capture key pursuits that align with the OPS strategic plans and initiatives.

The Business Development Capture Manager will perform all aspects of new business development and capture efforts to grow new business for Trident OPS. This position will support opportunity pursuits, preliminary program planning and pricing, proposal generation and develop/manage customer relationships. This position will be highly involved with technical leadership, program management and executive leadership, as well as key customer points of contact, to evaluate opportunities and coordinate required responses including potential solutions that meet technical requirements, financial and schedule targets, rough order of magnitude pricing estimates and full proposal submittals.

This position requires a self-motivated person with experience in captures/proposals that will lead an overall capture effort, including investment strategy, supplier and contract partnerships, technical development, and customer relationships. Must have the ability to understand what is required to achieve victories, develop compelling propositions, and prepare strong business cases to leadership.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports pursuits, preliminary program planning and pricing, proposal generation and develop/manage customer relationships.
  • Creates and maintains critical working relationships with R&D, technical leadership, program management and executive leadership, as well as customer points of contact.
  • Understands and engages with the OPS marketplace and stakeholder customer organizations to identify market drivers and trends to develop successful strategies.
  • Develops capture strategies such as competitive assessments, teaming strategies and priced-to-win analysis to improve competitive posture.
  • Performs market research to identify and qualify program opportunities.
  • Quickly learns and can speak fluently to OPS's technical capabilities
  • Conducts business intelligence and analysis activities to understand corporate capabilities/gaps, strategies, and win themes.
  • Supports all aspects of the RFP/RFI process and bid and pricing development and help formulate competitive bids/estimates/quotes.
  • Helps foster a relationship network with government and industry partners and work with members of the military, intelligence, and defense communities to build trust and gain key customer insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Management or related field with a minimum of 9+ years of experience performing business development and capture management activities in an aerospace, aeronautical and/or Department of Defense (DOD) environment required; or a Master's degree and a minimum of 7+ years of experience; or in lieu of a degree a minimum of 13+ years of experience.
  • An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one. Current SSBI is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of government and military contracts, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), GSA, and common Government RFP requirements and the capture process.
  • Experience with USAF Advanced Airborne manned and/or unmanned systems and platforms.
  • Experience with aircraft survivability technologies.
  • Experience developing and executing capture strategies for new business.
  • Experience with the preparation and presentation of information to both new/existing customers and leadership.
  • Excellent written, oral and negotiation communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in program management is highly desired.
  • Experience with DAF RCO program office -- previous experience and work in related SAP/SAR clearances.

Location:

  • This is a remote based role that will require travel as needed (30% to 50%).
  • Although this role is remote, it is preferred that the selected candidate resides in proximity to one of the following locations:
    • Denver, Colorado
    • Washington D.C.
    • Palmdale, California
    • Melbourne, Florida
    • Dayton, Ohio
