Job Summary The Department Manager oversees daily operations and provides strategic leadership for all assigned projects and staff. This role is responsible for workload distribution, management of scopes of work, participation in bid activities, oversight of site quality and safety, and ensuring overall project profitability. The Department Manager serves as a primary point of contact for client interactions and is periodically onsite for project walks, meetings, and relationship management. This position requires strong supervisory experience and a solid background in telecommunications. Job Responsibilities

Oversee and manage daily operations of the department to ensure efficiency and high-quality performance.

Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop department staff, addressing performance issues as needed.

Manage workload distribution and ensure staffing levels support project requirements.

Direct scopes of work across assigned technical areas, including structured cabling, audio-visual, security, life safety, estimating, or BIM.

Participate in and facilitate bid activities to support project acquisition.

Maintain and monitor project profitability, implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Oversee site quality and safety standards and ensure compliance with established guidelines.

Serve as the primary liaison with client representatives, supporting strong customer relationships.

Conduct onsite visits for project walks, meetings, and client engagement as needed.

Develop and implement process improvements to enhance department performance.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Minimum of seven years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Minimum of five years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.

Ability to define project scopes, develop associated tasks, and manage work through completion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Project.

Ability to supervise multiple direct reports across exempt and nonexempt roles.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation.

Ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.

Ability to learn and utilize project management systems.

Must meet driving standards and maintain any required company-sponsored resources.

Regular attendance required.
