Astrion is seeking a Project Engineer, Electrical Power Systems to join our team in support of NASA's pursuit of deep space exploration. In this role, you will join the Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) team. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer with a strong foundation in electrical systems, integration, and hands-on test engineering, who is ready to take on a stretch assignment and grow into a technical leadership role.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 1-5 years of relevant experience
  • Internship or co-op experience at NASA or in aerospace test environments
  • Experience with PCB design (Altium), SPICE simulation, or relay/ladder logic
  • Familiarity with JSC processes, engineering life cycle, and spaceflight hardware
  • Exposure to avionics or power systems integration and test
  • Experience with discrepancy reporting, test procedure development, and anomaly resolution
  • Interest in growing into a technical SME role supporting mission operations and subsystem performance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, testbed development, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, wiring, and control panel design
  • Experience with PLC/HMI programming, LabVIEW, or similar test automation tools
  • Ability to work with common hand tools and perform mechanical/electrical integration tasks
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; self-motivated and adaptable
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the design, integration, and test of VIPER's electrical power subsystem
  • Develop mock-ups and support subsystem assembly activities
  • Perform troubleshooting and contribute to test and verification (T&V) activities
  • Work with electrical and mechanical systems, supporting anomaly resolution
  • Generate technical documentation
  • Serve as part of the Mission Operations team that will participate in Lunar operations after launch.
  • Grow into a technical leadership role supporting VIPER's electrical power subsystem and mission operations
  • Perform other duties as required
