A Researcher 3 position is available in the laboratory of Dr. John Hulleman (@HullemanLab) in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota. The Hulleman Laboratory is dedicated to developing treatments for debilitating eye diseases by leveraging newly gained perspectives in biochemistry, chemical biology, and gene therapy. We have an opening for a researcher position (funded through multiple sources) that focuses on maintaining our animal colony, with the potential for independent research in the future. Candidates must hold a B.S. or B.A. degree in a relevant field (e.g., biology, chemistry, biochemistry) and have 2 years of non-course related wet lab experience. Candidates must be self-driven, creative, and willing to learn new techniques in a quickly evolving environment. Experience with analyzing complex data sets or the ability to program is a plus. The individual who fills this position must also be willing to work with rodent models of ocular diseases. This is a perfect opportunity for an individual to gain critical experience before transitioning on to graduate school. (25%) Animal work - mouse colony maintenance that involves breeding, husbandry, and maintaining appropriate records and tracking animals. Qualifications
