Education & Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who brings heart, flexibility, and a commitment to high-quality early learning.

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
• Required: Possess CDA Credential or be actively working toward a CDA or 

State-awarded equivalent

• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field from an institution accredited by the NC DCDEE

Experience in early childhood settings is helpful, but your enthusiasm for supporting children and teams matters most.

As a Center Floater, you’ll be a vital part of ensuring each classroom has the support it needs to offer a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment. Every day looks a little different, but your impact is always the same: helping children and staff thrive.

• Create positive experiences by supporting teachers with hands-on activities that reflect the mission and philosophy of the WNC Source Head Start program • Build warm, supportive relationships with children and families • Step confidently into classrooms to assist in the absence of Teachers, Teacher Assistants, or Support Staff • Maintain safe, healthy, supervised learning and play environments • Support Site Supervisors, Center Directors, administrative staff, and kitchen staff to keep the center running smoothly • Engage with children in ways that nurture curiosity, social-emotional growth, and school readiness
