A global leader in medical technology is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support the planning, design, and optimization of manufacturing and office facilities. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys balancing technical design, project coordination, and on-site execution. You'll play a key role in ensuring facilities and equipment are aligned with operational goals, safety standards, and long-term growth.

Hours & Pay



  • Shift: First shift, with occasional off-hours support as needed
  • Employment Type: Temporary position with possible extension and potential conversion for the right individual
  • Pay Rate: Up to $44.00 per hour
  • Conversion Salary: Up to $86,000 annually, if converted



What You'll Do Each Day



  • Plan, design, and oversee the construction, renovation, and reconfiguration of facilities, equipment, and production areas
  • Develop plant, office, and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency and utilization
  • Estimate design and construction costs, including labor, materials, installation, and preparation
  • Create performance specifications and design criteria that meet operational needs, building codes, and safety requirements
  • Coordinate with architecture and engineering firms on layouts, drawings, and design execution
  • Prepare bid packages and support contracts for construction and facility acquisitions
  • Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Collect and evaluate data related to facility requirements, restrictions, timelines, and feasibility
  • Support short-term and long-term facilities space planning initiatives
  • Assist with preventive maintenance planning and coordination
  • Plan and support periodic equipment shutdowns for maintenance and servicing
  • Maintain compliance with all quality systems and documentation requirements



What We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1+ year of facilities or engineering experience
  • Conceptual and technical knowledge of facilities engineering practices and procedures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to solve problems using established professional concepts and standard practices
  • Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferred
