Department Information

Georgia Tech Arts operates the Ferst Center for the Arts and presents a professional performing arts season along with campus and community events. The Ferst Center is a multi-use presenting venue that hosts touring artists, residencies, lectures, institute meetings, student showcases, and rental events. Our work centers on live event execution and relies on strong production support, efficient coordination, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of event types.

Job Summary

To assist the Production Manager in providing efficient, professional, respectful, and courteous production support to all artists, clients, and groups connected to the Office of the Arts through presentations in the Ferst Center and/or artistic partnerships at other locations. This position will interact regularly with: Production team, guest artists and their production teams, rental clients, students, staff, and faculty. This position will typically advise and counsel: Rental clients, students, staff, and This position will supervise: N/A

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Assist with load-in and load-out for each production, including, but not limited to, sound equipment, lighting equipment, audio-visual equipment, and sets/props/costumes.

Job Duty 2 -
Call cues for or operate lighting, sound, audio-visual, scenic, costume, and prop elements as deemed necessary, depending upon specific event needs.

Job Duty 3 -
Provide production support for users of the Ferst Center in other areas of the venue, including setting up areas for conferences, board meetings, or other similar events.

Job Duty 4 -
Assist in the installation of production equipment and exhibitions in other areas of the building and alternate venues as directed by the Production Manager.

Job Duty 5 -
Assist in or execute matters of health and safety around the building, including assistance in fire drills, evacuation procedures, and maintenance of all safety equipment.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours degree in a related area of production or technical (due year client shift schedules, project requirements).

Required Experience
One year of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred skills include working knowledge of stage operations, theatrical terminology, and the ability to operate hand/power tools. Additional preferred skills included familiarity with OSHA safety rules and operations. Previous work experience in areas of live production is a plus. Proficient in QLab software. Experience with PowerPoint and similar presentation applications.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in production, technical theatre, or related field

Salary Range: $16.00 up to $22.25 per hour. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant professional experience.
