OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school student who is studying Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in thermodynamic (HVAC) systems or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on mechanical systems for a paid internship for Summer 2026 at our Greenwood Village, CO. Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible.

The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2026.

We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity in January 2026. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received followed by interviews. Timeframe subject to change.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

The summer internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of architectural engineering with a focus on mechanical systems. The intern will be exposed to a variety of engineering experiences and tasks including, but not limited to, facility heating / ventilation / and air conditioning (HVAC) analysis and design, plumbing and piping design, the LEED certification process, sustainable buildings and systems, and energy conservation.

The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have graduation date after August 2026 to be eligible.
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering (with an emphasis on thermodynamic systems) or Architectural Engineering (with an emphasis on mechanical systems) from an ABET accredited university
  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Revit.
  • Knowledge of Trane Trace.
