The Logistics Assistant provides essential logistics and back-office support for site operations, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of materials through the supply chain. This position is based at the manufacturing site and is responsible for managing warehouse activities for both finished goods and raw materials, including the accurate receipt, storage, and timely shipment of materials. The role also supports subcontracting operations at toll manufacturing facilities and performs day-to-day logistics activities within the company's ERP system to maintain accurate inventory and delivery records. A key focus of this position is meeting customer requirements through reliable order fulfillment, on-time delivery, and consistent execution of logistics processes that uphold the company's service and quality standards.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day logistics operations, including planning and scheduling of transportation equipment and managing finished goods inventory to support business demand.
  • Create SAP deliveries and schedule carriers for all outbound shipments, including external warehouse coordination.
  • Create and manage stock transport orders for inbound and outbound materials, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments to minimize cost, maximize efficiency, and meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Process accurate and timely receipts of incoming raw materials and packaging in the SAP system.
  • Administer daily paperwork flow for all shipments entering and exiting the warehouse.
  • Coordinate shipment requirements with Plant Manufacturing, Distribution, R&D/Lab, external customers, Supply Chain & Logistics departments, and external 4PL service providers.
  • Coordinate the scrap sales process in SAP, including scheduling pickups and processing scrap manifests.
  • Utilize SAP applications (including SAP TM and Supply Chain Cockpit), IIMS, rack inventory database, and other reporting tools to support accurate and efficient logistics operations.
  • Serve as a key user for all logistics processes within the plant.
  • Support Corrective Action Systems (Customer Complaints) by providing clear and accurate data to assist in issue resolution and prevention.
  • Participate in projects and strategic initiatives to help Site Logistics, SC&L, and the production site achieve short- and long-term operational and business goals.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Site Logistics Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and logistics procedures and KPIs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with 5 years of experience in warehousing OR 1 year of experience in logistics

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of site logistics operations and inventory control, with a high level of supply chain expertise.
  • Strong project management, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, SAP BW, and related logistics systems.
