Maintenance Technician- Lafayette Apartments

At Gorman & Company, we take pride in creating and maintaining communities where people feel at home. We're looking for a skilled, Part-Time Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Lafayette Apartments location, a brand-new 54-unit affordable housing community opening this spring.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled, hands-on technician who would like to be a part in launching a community serving individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness - making a meaningful impact from day one.

What You'll Do:

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair work across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance, and general building systems.

• Diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and independently.

• Prepare apartments for new residents and ensure property curb appeal.

• Maintain common areas and grounds, including seasonal upkeep.

• Respond to emergency maintenance calls with professionalism and urgency.

• Collaborate with vendors and property teams to ensure smooth operations.

What You'll Bring:

• Two or more years of maintenance experience in property management or a related trade.

• Valid driver's license, insurance, and an insurable driving record.

• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and appliance repair.

• EPA HVAC Type ll or Universal, or CPO certification preferred.

• Strong communication skills, customer service mindset, and the ability to work independently.
