Job Summary

The Institute Finance Analyst leads Finance programs and projects, conducts research to identify issues, and provides professional consultation in financial best practices to support the institution in achieving its business and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 - Evaluates, directs, and leads projects related to the management of campus finance and budget activities and compliance-assurance programs; may serve on Institute-wide committees.
Job Duty 2- Serves as a primary advisor to leadership and staff and works proactively to ensure the Institute is pursuing all appropriate ways of achieving standards, efficient and accountability.
Job Duty 3- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Duty 4 - Serves as a resource and advisor for multiple units or division financial staff on matters of financial compliance, supports department financial and administrative requirements and acts as a liaison for special requests.
Job Duty 5 - In coordination with leadership, assist multiple units or division across various funding sources with strategic financial planning (forecasts, budget development, and financial management) ensuring compliance with policies and procedures as well as specific regulations and/or guidelines on restricted funds.
Job Duty 6 - Analyzes and assists with resolving internal compliance reviews; provides resolution assistance on internal and external audit requests and corrective action plans. Prepares audit documentation for senior management review.
Job Duty 7 - Provides senior management with recommendations on the effectiveness of existing processes, policy formulation, and education on internal controls, compliance, accounting, and systems.
Job Duty 8- Identifies and supports financial training programs and requirements.
Job Duty 9 - Assists in system and reporting improvement, design, testing, implementation, and training.
Job Duty 10 - Performs financial and decision support analysis and related special projects assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Associate degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requined for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours Degree in Accounting, Business, or similar (due to client shift schedules, project requinements).

Required Experience
2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
CPA, CMA, or CFA Knowledge of State of Georgia and Board of Regents policies/requirements (primarily PPVs) and IRS standards related to Tax exempt bond-financing Knowledge of various financing vehicles (bonds, bank loans, etc) and related accounting standards Prior experience in providing financial analysis for bond and other financing activities Related experience in higher education

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
Experience preparing MS Excel based multi-year financial models, pro formas, and NPV-based analyses, as well as general proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access). Strong communication skills including interacting with senior-level management and external oversight entities, as well as attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively.

A significant portion of the role involves collaboration and active engagement with both internal and external partners, as the Treasury team functions as a service unit supporting the Institute and it's affiliated entities.
