About the Role The AI Specialist supports business operations by applying artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve efficiency, organization, analysis, and outcomes. This role is intended for an experienced professional who understands how to use AI intentionally, responsibly, and effectively in a business environment. The individual independently applies AI tools to support research, documentation, analysis, and workflow optimization, while exercising strong judgment around AI capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations. This role focuses on practical application, not experimentation without purpose. Key Responsibilities Practical AI Application
- Strategically applies AI tools to optimize complex workflows, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the quality and scalability of work products across functions.
- Independently determines when and how AI should be used, selecting appropriate tools and techniques based on business needs, data sensitivity, and risk considerations.
- Leverages AI to perform advanced analysis, synthesize large or complex datasets, and generate actionable insights that inform business decisions.
- Establishes repeatable, high-value AI use cases and refines them over time to improve consistency, accuracy, and outcomes.
- Exercises expert judgment in reviewing, validating, and refining AI-generated outputs to ensure they meet professional, operational, and compliance standards.
- Proactively evaluates emerging AI capabilities and assesses their practical applicability, risks, and benefits before integrating them into workflows.
- Enhances organizational effectiveness by identifying opportunities where AI can reduce manual effort, mitigate error, and improve decision quality-while recognizing when non-AI approaches are more appropriate.
- Serves as a subject matter resource for effective AI usage, sharing best practices and guidance to elevate overall AI maturity within the organization.
Responsible & Ethical Use of AI
- Uses AI tools in alignment with company policies, data privacy standards, contractual obligations, and ethical guidelines.
- Exercises discretion when working with sensitive, confidential, or proprietary information.
- Demonstrates awareness of bias, data quality concerns, accuracy limitations, and risk considerations associated with AI-generated content.
- Ensures human oversight, review, and accountability for all AI-assisted work.
- Raises questions or concerns when AI use may present compliance, privacy, or quality risks.
Continuous Improvement
- Participates in ongoing learning related to AI tools, responsible use, and data governance.
- Contributes to best practices for effective and ethical AI use within the organization.
- Applies feedback to refine AI-supported workflows and outputs.
- Supports documentation of AI-enabled processes as needed.
Qualifications & Experience Experience
- 3-6 years of professional experience applying AI tools in a business, operational, or analytical environment.
- Demonstrated experience using AI to support workflows such as research, analysis, drafting, summarization, or process improvement.
- Experience evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, quality, and appropriateness in a professional setting.
Education
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred), including:
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Information Systems
- Business Analytics
- Engineering
- Operations, Business, or a related discipline
- Advanced degrees are a plus but not required.
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required) One or more of the following is a plus, but not mandatory:
- AI or data-related certifications (e.g., Google, Microsoft, AWS, Coursera, edX)
- Responsible AI or data ethics coursework/certifications
- Automation or analytics certifications
- Professional certificates in process improvement or digital transformation
