Service is at the heart of everything we do at MSK. Our Transportation team plays a meaningful role in supporting daily operations by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient transportation for our staff across MSK locations. We are proud of the critical work our drivers do to help keep MSK running efficiently.

Role Overview:

  • Conduct detailed pre-trip inspections of MSK vehicles, including checking for irregular engine sounds, fluid levels (brake, windshield washer, power steering, etc.), and ensuring all lights, lamps, and signals are functioning accurately.
  • Safely transport MSK staff primarily between the Main Campus and other Manhattan MSK locations, maintaining efficient routes within approximately 20-minute runs and 40-minute round trips.
  • Operate according to the posted Jitney Bus Schedule and enforce to dispatch instructions.
  • Remain with the Jitney vehicle while passengers are on board to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Retrieve and return MSK vehicles to designated areas at the start and end of scheduled workdays.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, orderliness, and overall operating condition, including routine washing.
  • Promptly report any unusual sounds, mechanical issues, or operational irregularities to the Lead Supervisor.
  • Maintain assigned driving schedules and support coverage needs as directed by departmental leadership.
  • May be issued an MSK Corporate Credit Card and responsible for recording transactions in the eCommerce system as required.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL Class B license required.
  • Strong dedication to safety, integrity, and customer service.
  • Ability to follow schedules, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Reliable and accountable, with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare environment.

Core Skills:

  • Safe and defensive driving practices; Defensive Driving training preferred.
  • Strong situational awareness and good judgment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills when interacting with staff and leadership.
  • Attention to detail in vehicle inspections and reporting.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous at all times.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Full-time evening shifts. Hours between 1pm-12am. Weekends and Holidays as needed. 37.5 hours a week

Pay Range: $22.98 - $31.80 FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
