The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Responsible for coordination of incorporating family centered care concepts into the NICU. Responsible for organizing and coordinating a NICU Family Advisory Council (FAC). Collaborate with FAC, NICU staff and administration to implement identified projects aimed at improving the overall experience of families with an infant in the NICU.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma
  • NICU experience with strong interpersonal skills, trained in concepts of family centered care

Preferred:

  • College Degree preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Act as liaison to NICU staff and Families regarding Family centered care.
  • Attend and participate in VON conferences and relevant planning meetings
  • Be responsible for overall coordination of NICU Buddy Program and provide supportive "matches" in a timely manner for all families requesting a buddy
  • Chair and convene regularly scheduled meetings and develop and prepare materials for these meetings.
  • Collaborate with parent leaders at other VON centers regarding FAC issues and experiences
  • Coordinate identification and evaluation of comprehensive resource list for NICU library
  • Develop and coordinate a NICU Family Advisory Council
  • Meet and collaborate with key administrators on progress of identified improvement projects.
  • Provide comprehensive training sessions to graduate NICU parents throughout the year so that they can be assigned to provide support to current NICU families
  • Provide leadership and assistance in co-leaders of subcommittees working on prioritized improvement projects
  • Provide ongoing communication to Family Advisory Council members about contents of meetings.
  • Serve as liaison to the hospital foundation and other departments in order to facilitate FAC meetings and projects
  • Work and seek opportunities to train NICU support parents ("buddies") with diverse cultural and NICU experiences
