POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Data Director reports to the Head of Data, Analytics & AI * DaaS
  • Located in Mansfield
  • Full-Time
  • Remote
  • Compensation: $165,000 - $170,000



We are seeking an accomplished Data Director with extensive hands-on experience to lead and shape our data strategy. This role offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to provide strategic direction, lead a high-performing team, and drive innovation in data management within the organization.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Strategic Data Leadership:



  • Develop and execute a comprehensive and forward-thinking data strategy aligning with organizational objectives.
  • Provide strategic guidance to executive leadership on long-term data initiatives.


Data Governance and Compliance Oversight:



  • Establish and enforce robust data governance policies, ensuring the highest level of security and privacy standards.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address complex regulatory requirements related to data management.


Advanced Data Architecture Design and Oversight:



  • Lead the design and implementation of sophisticated data architectures that align with complex business requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure optimal data structures and system integration.


Optimization of Data Integration and ETL Processes:



  • Oversee the development and optimization of advanced data integration and ETL processes.
  • Ensure seamless and efficient data flow between systems and applications, utilizing cutting-edge tools and methodologies.


Data Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:



  • Implement and manage advanced data quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement in data management workflows and implement strategic initiatives.


Performance Monitoring and Scalability Strategies:



  • Monitor and address performance bottlenecks in data processing, storage, and retrieval.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize system scalability and responsiveness for evolving business needs.


Team Leadership and Mentorship:



  • Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Provide guidance and support for career development and skill enhancement.


Executive-Level Collaboration:



  • Collaborate effectively with C-level executives, data scientists, software developers, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated and strategic data solutions.
  • Communicate complex data management concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.


Reporting and Communication at the Highest Level:



  • Provide regular reports on advanced data management metrics, project status, and team performance to executive leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and providing updates.


Vendor and Tool Evaluation at an Expert Level:



  • Evaluate and recommend advanced data management tools and vendors to enhance team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams for tool acquisition and licensing.



COMPETENCIES:



  • In-depth understanding of advanced data governance principles, security measures, and compliance standards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide visionary leadership in developing and executing complex data strategies that drive organizational success.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through organizational changes, adapting to emerging technologies, and implementing process improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders at the executive level.
  • Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • 12 - 15 years of hands-on experience in progressively responsible data management roles, with a focus on strategic leadership.
  • Proficiency in SQL and extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Mastery of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Team management and leadership experience.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.


In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
