Position Highlights

The Specialist in Poison Information will be responsible for answering calls regarding overdoses, envenomations, and toxic exposures from hospital personnel and the general public. This position will work closely with hospital personnel to provide life-saving information for patient management. Drug information, infectious disease, and other medical based calls will also be answered.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Answering poisoning and drug information calls.
  • Documenting all calls into Electronic Health Record and performing Quality Assurance.
  • Performing outreach and educational activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong clinical knowledge related to pharmacy.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to perform well in stressful situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PharmD degree.
  • Active AZ pharmacy license.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Scribe, CNA, LPN, RN, EMT, or Medical School student preferred.
