Location: Timonium, MD (Hybrid - Onsite 2 days/week)

We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources professional to support our rapidly growing, multi-state organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, a trusted resource for employees, and a key contributor to advancing HR operations and organizational development.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters across multiple business units.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Investigate and resolve employee concerns in a fair, consistent, and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across 30+ states, including new-state setup and monitoring regulatory changes.
  • Oversee annual compliance training, EEO reporting, and required documentation.
  • Support adherence to policies related to PTO, leave management, family leave, and other statutory requirements.
  • Manage the full onboarding process to ensure an efficient, compliant, and positive new-hire experience.
  • Partner with the HR Coordinator to support office-related HR tasks and administrative functions.
  • Collaborate with benefits partners on annual enrollment, employee inquiries, and ongoing benefits administration.
  • Assist with HR systems administration and maintain working knowledge of payroll systems (this role does not process payroll).
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, and the overall employee lifecycle.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational development, and other human capital initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 7-10+ years of HR generalist experience managing the full scope of HR functions; multi-state experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws; experience with government-related compliance is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with HR leadership.
  • Experience with benefits administration and familiarity with payroll systems (without processing payroll).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
