The Corporate Paralegal (Compliance & Governance) plays a critical role in supporting MCC's legal and compliance functions. This position combines corporate governance, compliance program administration, and transactional support, while providing administrative-level responsibilities across U.S. and global operations. Prior experience in both a global corporate setting and law firm environment is strongly preferred.



Primary Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of corporate compliance policies and procedures.
  • Serve as primary administrator for the company's ethics hotline and assist in expanding to an incident management tool.
  • Manage the company's conflict of interest surveys and investigate any potential conflicts.
  • Manage the company's quarterly risk and litigation questionnaire sent to all company locations globally; compile results for quarterly meeting with the Legal and Internal Audit functions.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain documentation related to corporate governance, including serving as primary contact for updating and maintaining the company's GEMS system (maintenance of corporate documentation and directors and officers for each legal entity globally).
  • Coordinate and support internal and external compliance audits and investigations.
  • Draft and review compliance-related correspondence, training materials, and reports.
  • Support the legal team in responding to inquiries from regulatory bodies and government agencies.
  • Conduct research on relevant compliance-related laws, regulations, and best practices affecting the company's operations.


Qualifications:



  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field required.
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a corporate legal or compliance environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business law.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity, with proven ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
