Join a team who is truly "Doing the Most Good." The Salvation Army Midland Division Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a full-time Billing Manager.

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, $43,000- $45,000 per year depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities:



  • Prepares and submits clean claims to various insurance companies, and state funders either electronically or by paper.
  • Processes payments from insurance companies.
  • Oversees and or completes the pre-authorizations for insurance companies.
  • Responsible for updates to the EHR system, and inputs CPT, DSM, and ICD codes for behavioral health services.
  • Coordinates with the Clinical Supervisor to completes utilization reviews with insurance companies.
  • Resolve issues related to payments for clients such as rejection or denials and coordinating revisions or adjustments for resubmission.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation for payments received in the EHR system and provide reports of reconciliation to the Executive Director monthly.
  • Conducts billing audits at least quarterly to ensure accuracy is verified for computer entry of all client data/transactions related to client case openings, changes, deletions, services, and closings submitted by all Midtown Service and Treatment staff.
  • Ensures that the billing staff receive supervision and assistance with job responsibilities as needed. Assures efficient time and resource utilization in the absence of staff, conducts all billing functions to insure continual operations.

Qualifications:

Related Bachelor's degree and four (4) year's work experience with one (1) year supervisory experience. Combination of training and experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of business administration including budget and financial statement analysis, grant management, human resources, and risk management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented. Working knowledge of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Must be a team player, self-starter, able to manage several projects at the same time, and perform well with minimum supervision. Ability to think independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Must possess a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, and pass The Salvation Army MVR check. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.

Knowledge of:

Medical insurance billing practices.

Basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.

Business office procedures.
