POSITION OVERVIEW: ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefit plans, including but not limited to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, MHPAEA, Transparency in Coverage, and the No Surprises Act 2. Review and make recommendations relative to plan administration, system maintenance, and vendor management 3. Update HR leadership in regard to regulatory changes, updates and processes 4. Represent Freight on cross Enterprise project teams as the subject matter expert pertaining to internal benefit programs; keep management and department up-to date on applicable projects 5. Support manager to ensure that effective measurements are implemented and maintained with regard to various third party services 6. Administer benefits eligibility and ensure accurate setup, administration and auditing across HRIS, payroll and vendor systems 7. Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries, benefit vendors and consultants, including issue resolution, data validation and service delivery monitoring 8. Resolve complex benefit issues by coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate resolution 9. Oversee benefits billing to include reconciliations, resolving billing discrepancies, coordinating approvals and maintaining documentation to support audits and internal controls 10. Develop, maintain and enhance employee benefit communications, intranet content and educational resources throughout the year 11. Support annual audits, compliance filings and data requests, including ACA reporting and vendor audits. 12. Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and internal controls related to benefits administration and financial processes 13. QUALIFICATIONS: Required: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience * Minimum of three (3) years' experience in benefits related field (private or public section) * Working knowledge of benefit compliance requirements (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA) * Knowledge of various lines of insurance and benefits terminology * Ability to review and understand application of benefits * Must be able to convey information regarding benefit processes, which are related to the application of benefits and claims administration * Good time management, organization and interpersonal skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software: Word, Excel, and Outlook (including reconciliation and analysis) * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail * Experience with benefits billing, reconciliation and vendor invoice review * Good verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work independently and as a team member Preferred: * Vendor management or consulting experience * Experience partnering with Finance and Payroll * Familiarity with benefits audits, ACA reporting and internal controls WORKING CONDITIONS: * Travel required Preferred Qualifications: Pay Transparency: Pay: Additional Details: While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location(s) in Memphis, TN; Harrison, AR; or Charlotte, NC.
