Job Description

The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank. We welcome candidates with teaching and research interests in operations and supply chain management, with particular interests in the application of AI to business and supply chain processes.

Qualifications

  • PhD or DBA in supply chain, operations, or a related discipline such as business analytics, industrial engineering, information systems from an institution where the business school is accredited by AACSB or EQUIS.
  • ABDs will be considered. However, the doctoral degree must be completed by the start date.
  • Candidates must offer evidence of instructional effectiveness. Candidates also must demonstrate the potential to effectively utilize different teaching modalities and to address the needs of students from across a broad portfolio of programs and students. Evidence of capability to effectively teach courses in operations and supply chain management, including courses that focus on the application of AI. The curriculum vitae must include a listing of courses taught to date along with teaching evaluation scores.
  • Evidence demonstrating the capability to publish in high-impact journals.
  • Candidates must demonstrate expertise related to the growing role of AI and emerging technologies in supply chain and operations.
Anticipated Hiring Range

This is an Assistant Professor position and salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and evidence of success in publications and research. This is a 9-month, benefit-eligible, full-time (1.0) faculty appointment eligible for tenure. Appointment to begin in August 2026.
