Job Summary The Senior Manager, Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) is responsible for strategic leadership, operational oversight, and day-to-day execution of enterprise security operations across a global footprint. This role serves as a primary decision-maker for global GSOC operations and is fully empowered to act on behalf of senior security leadership during their absence, including authority over incident response, personnel decisions, and escalation management. The Senior Manager oversees GSOC staffing, technology platforms, budgets, vendor relationships, and performance metrics, while leading crisis response, driving operational excellence, and ensuring alignment with organizational risk tolerance, compliance requirements, and business continuity objectives. In addition, this role directs intelligence gathering and threat monitoring activities, synthesizing internal and external information into actionable insights, and oversees timely, accurate security communications to the broader organization to ensure leadership and coworkers are informed, prepared, and able to respond appropriately to emerging risks. What you'll do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center, ensuring continuous monitoring, incident detection, and coordinated response across CDW's global enterprise.
- Lead enterprise incident and crisis management activities, including threat assessment, executive notifications, cross-functional coordination, and post-incident reviews.
- Facilitates executive crisis management bridge calls using the GSOC as the central coordination vehicle, aligning C-suite leadership, ensuring accurate situational awareness, driving timely decision-making, and maintaining clear documentation and follow-up actions through incident resolution.
- Manages intelligence gathering and threat monitoring efforts, leveraging Genetec / Operations Center platforms to integrate internal data, open-source intelligence, vendor intelligence feeds (e.g., Dataminr), and law enforcement or trusted partner information into timely, actionable assessments.
- Oversee the development, approval, and dissemination of security communications and alerts to coworkers and leadership, ensuring clarity, timeliness, and alignment with organizational risk posture.
- Manage GSOC staffing models, scheduling, training, and performance management to maintain operational readiness and analyst effectiveness.
- Manages GSOC technology platforms and tools, including monitoring systems, access control, video management, incident management, and mass notification solutions.
- Develops and manage GSOC budgets, vendor contracts, and service-level agreements, ensuring fiscal accountability and operational value.
- Establish and track key performance indicators through, metrics, and reporting to measure GSOC effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with IT, CWS, Legal, Facilities, and Business Continuity to align security operations with enterprise priorities.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while supporting ISO audits and risk assessments.
- Lead after-action reviews and lessons-learned initiatives to strengthen preparedness, response capabilities, and organizational resilience.
- Manage Travel Safety Program enterprise wide.
- Coordinates with all Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies for assistance and guidance during emergencies.
- Manages GSOC analysts, operators, specialists, and contractors supporting 24/7/365 GSOC monitoring and response operations, with accountability for staffing, performance, training, and operational readiness.
- Leads and governs the global response to emergency situations, including civil disturbances, bomb threats, explosions, fires, floods, workplace violence, and other enterprise disruptions covered under the company's Business Continuity Program (BCP), ensuring executive alignment, timely decision-making, and operational continuity.
- Designs and coordinates the installation, upgrade, and lifecycle management of enterprise electronic security systems, establishing platform standards, managing associated budgets, and overseeing projects related to acquisitions, expansions or remodels, relocations, decommissions, and new construction.
- Subject matter expert (SME) in GSOC operations.
What we expect of you Minimum basic requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of GSOC operations experience or 12+ years of GSOC operation experience
- 3+ years of managerial experience
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of emerging and evolving security technologies, including next-generation access control, video management and analytics, identity and credentialing solutions, and specialized, technology-enabled security applications.
- Familiar with investigative tactics.
- Knowledge of laws and practices of coworker safety.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of coworkers, management, executives and law enforcement authorities.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to direct coworkers and develop a cohesive team.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding issues or controversies, especially in a disaster or crisis is required.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment preferred and the ability to prioritize multiple and changing initiatives.
Preferred skills, experience and qualities needed
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Understands AI-enabled security technologies and their application within GSOC operations, including understanding capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use cases.
- Genetec, or other industry leading security system platform certification(s)
