Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of General Services is seeking qualified applicants for a Facilities Security Technician II position within the Facilities Support Division. This position will specialize in Electronic Security Systems (Card Access, Intrusion, Camera Surveillance, Fire Safety, Life Safety). The ideal candidate will have a proven work history demonstrating knowledge, skill, and ability in the installation, programming, and maintenance of electronic security access control and camera surveillance systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair system problems. Familiarity with fire safety systems is a plus.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation, maintenance, programming, and monitoring of County-wide electronic access control systems.
  • Installation, maintenance, programming, and monitoring of video camera surveillance systems.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of problems with electronic security and surveillance systems.
  • Installation, repair, and replacement of lock mechanisms and door hardware, to include hinges, closers, and strikers.
  • Issue new or replacement access cards and keys, as requested.
  • Provide emergency response to facilities security issues.
  • Oversee work of commercial security contractors and Level I Technicians.
  • Comply with law enforcement requests for surveillance camera footage.
  • Maintain system records.
  • Provide superior customer service at all times.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of related work experience in maintenance/trades or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Electronic safety and security systems experience
  • Manufacturer training in Identicard/PremiSys or equivalent access control systems, and Hanwha, Geutebruck, or equivalent video surveillance camera systems
  • DCJS Locksmith License

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background check(s), to include criminal, credit, DMV record background checks, and criminal justice information system (CJIS) fingerprinting.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
  • Subject to recall or being held beyond scheduled workday.
  • Must be able to lift seventy (70) pounds.
  • Must be available to respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive. DCJS
  • DCJS Locksmith License required within one (1) year of hire.
  • This position is considered "essential."
