Job Summary

Position Summary

We are seeking a PRN / Pool Occupational Therapist (OT) with Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) experience to provide high-quality occupational therapy services across inpatient rehabilitation and associated care settings within Grady Health System.

The PRN OT practices within the scope of care defined by the Georgia Occupational Therapy Act, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions that maximize patient functional independence and outcomes. This role supports coverage needs within the IRU and other assigned units, delivering care to medically complex patients across the rehabilitation continuum.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced clinicians seeking schedule flexibility while maintaining exposure to high-acuity rehab populations in a teaching-hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy evaluation and treatment services within the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU)

  • Deliver patient-centered interventions to inpatient populations with complex medical and functional needs

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams to support coordinated care plans

  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on functional goals and patient progress

  • Monitor, screen, and follow OT consults within assigned areas of responsibility

  • Ensure care delivery is age-appropriate and addresses patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs

  • Complete timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards

  • Support PRN / Pool staffing needs across designated service areas as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

  • Licensed or license-eligible as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia (must secure Georgia license by employment start date)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical occupational therapy experience

  • Demonstrated experience in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) setting

  • Clearly defined area of clinical expertise through professional experience and/or additional certification

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center
