Our Internal Audit team provides independent, objective assurance and insights that help drive business improvement and strengthen internal controls. We are seeking a Data Analytics Specialist to support our audit work through data-driven analysis and participation in assurance activities. The Data Analytics Specialist will play a key role in integrating data analytics into Internal Audit's assurance and advisory activities. This position blends hands-on analytics work with core internal audit responsibilities, including SOX testing and operational/compliance audit support. The ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years of experience in data analytics or audit, a strong curiosity to explore and interpret data, and the ability to translate analytical results into meaningful audit insights. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to develop a well-rounded skill set across analytics, controls, and risk management. This is an onsite position 5 days per week in either our Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA office. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Internal Audit teams to design and execute data-driven audit procedures.
- Extract, clean, analyze, and interpret data using tools such as Python, Excel, and generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT).
- Perform and document SOX control testing as well as support operational and compliance audit activities.
- Build and maintain repeatable analytics, dashboards, and scripts to enhance audit quality, efficiency, and continuous auditing initiatives.
- Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported documentation of analytics procedures, findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data accessibility and support ongoing enhancements in data governance and analytics maturity.
- Contribute to the development of Internal Audit's long-term analytics roadmap and capability building.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in data analytics, internal audit, or related analytical/controls-focused roles.
- Proficiency in Python and Excel; experience with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and insights within large data sets.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in developing deeper expertise in internal controls, SOX, and risk management.
