Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.

The Facilities Systems Engineer investigates, scopes, and oversees the design and construction of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, including replacements and upgrades. Conducts an evaluation of installed equipment and evaluates needs for future hardware. Evaluates facility standards and recommends improvements for processes and procedures. Ensures facilities maintenance and associated projects comply with organizational and governmental safety regulations. Participates in the planning and installations of new facility systems and oversees facility upgrade and maintenance projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Evaluates the utilities systems with respect to performance, reliability, energy cost, maintainability, safety, and life cycle costs and make recommendations for updates, repairs and installations.

* Identifies the condition of MEP and HVAC systems and investigates for repairs, and replacements of systems and/or components of systems.

* Develops operational plans for facility infrastructure changes including budgets, timelines, additional resources and impacted groups.

* Oversees planning, budgeting, and scheduling of projects and ensures adherence to timelines and budgets. Notifies appropriate groups when there are any changes to projects.

* Communicates project timelines and progress with leaders and other stakeholders.

* Collaborates with vendors to ensure LPCHS and government regulation adherence.

* Evaluates MEP and HVAC systems for future changes of components including replacement and upgrades.

* Troubleshoots facility systems issues and recommends system upgrades.

* Coordinates facility system changes with impacted groups.

* Contributes to emergency procedures and responds to emergency facilities situations.

* Ensures projects and facility system changes adhere to LPCHS and government regulations and guidelines.

* Collaborates with the Engineering Staff and contractors for projects or changes in facilities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in work related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience.

License/Certification: None required.

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $51.16 to $67.82
