Department Summary

The University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth College of Nursing will help address the shortage of nurses in Texas, which has the second-fewest nurses per capita in the U.S. The College of Nursing joins five other colleges and schools offering degree programs at HSC: the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, School of Health Professions and School of Pharmacy.

Position Overview

The Senior Program Manager will lead the planning and/or implementation of programs related to the discovery, design, development and implementation of relevant programs. This role will oversee all Academy operations, oversee Forensic Teaching Associates and Genitourinary Teaching Associates, support grant deliverables, and serve as the primary liaison with internal and external partners.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Ability to understand general business principles.
  • Ability to be a strong, clear communicator by oral and written means.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of professional colleagues from tenured researchers to students to entrepreneurs.
  • Ability to be highly organized and have the ability to work towards deadlines.
  • Ability to be develop new procedures and present to others about those processes.


Preferred Qualifications



  • At least five years' experience in health care simulation management, including training and supervision of Genitourinary Teaching Associates (GTAs) and Forensic Teaching Associates (FTAs).


Job Duties



  • Responsible for gathering requirements with stakeholders, understanding the program needs and communicating development progress to the stakeholders over time.
  • Facilitate the definition of the program mission, goals, tasks and resource requirements; resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas.
  • Develop methods to monitor program or area progress and provide corrective action if necessary.
  • Recognize problems or situations that are new or without clear precedent.
  • Evaluate alternatives and find solutions.
  • Responsible for approving or rejecting development work on behalf of stakeholders as necessary.
  • Coordinate among teams separated by functionality and physical distance.
  • Facilitate the definition of service levels and customer requirements.
  • Determine timeline, needs and develop plans for improving delivery.
  • Manage program budget and resource allocation.
  • Prepare program status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Monitor or track program milestones and deliverables.
